Liquid Light (or "Let It Rain")

May 9, 2023

Last night I dreamed I was with the body of Christ waiting with anticipation for Him to come. We were inside a building and people were prophesying to each other and encouraging each other. As the dream went on, we were outside in natural light in a place with granite boulders and brush like the chaparral where I grew up in the hills of southern California.

Then we were inside the building again, in a normal conference room, when it began to rain inside. But it wasn't normal rain. Each raindrop was filled with light. We could see thousands of light-filled drops forming on the ceiling, becoming heavy, and streaking down and splattering on people, on chairs, and on the floor. As the light-filled rain quickly became a downpour, everyone began shouting and cheering for Jesus as they were overcome by the glory of God.

I woke up to the sound of rain outside my window.

Lord, I pray You send Your rain and revive Your people to love You with all our might. As we wait on You with expectation and in one accord, let us have a tangible demonstration of Your presence. May we be a people brimming with the oil of gladness to demonstrate to a dark world that You are who You say You are, and that means there is hope.

“Be glad, O children of Zion,

and rejoice in the Lord your God,

for he has given the early rain for your vindication;

he has poured down for you abundant rain,

the early and the latter rain, as before.

- Joel 2:23

Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord;

his going out is sure as the dawn;

he will come to us as the showers,

as the spring rains that water the earth.”

- Hosea 6:3

he will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.

- Deuteronomy 11:14
