You Are My Lamp, O Lord

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

June 21, 2022

Today is the first day of summer, the longest day of the year. The sun doesn't seem to shine quite as brightly as it used to, but it's OK. The revelation light of God illuminates me on the inside and shines forth from within me. The lamp is the Lamb.

The Lord freed me of the need for medication after being dependent on antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotics for 15 years. He set me free from chronic pain and the need for pain medication after 16 years. I live fairly far north. For about half the year, there are long hours of physical darkness. Last fall I felt that darkness and the spiritual darkness of this world encroaching rapidly on my mind and my soul. I have no other option. It has to be HIM now who lights up my mind. So when I felt the darkness and the accompanying fear coming on, I told him there was no hope unless he himself lit up my mind and soul. And he answered me. I knew he could do it. He is the one who formed the nerve fibers, synapses, and neurotransmitters that light up my mind. He formed all that FROM DUST and gave me breath by his Spirit. Of course he can lighten my darkness.

THANK YOU, LORD.

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
